Hello and thanks
Hi and thanks for inviting me to quote on your new accommodation and event space photography brief. I think you have a good idea of my photography and know how I work from our shoot for Blossoms, but you may not know my interiors and hotel work so well. I’ve put together some recent work below. I’m often tasked with brand refreshes, and having reviewed your current set of images I can see how we can freshen up and improve the library. The use of lights and lenses are detailed to the right and can have a huge impact. This, along with the use of aspirational room detail shots, similar to the samples below, can work wonders when placed next to the main room shots.
Lighting and lenses
Most of your existing images are shot using natural light available in the rooms, which is fine if the rooms are bright, but in the darker areas they can look too dark. Using the tungsten lights in the room gives off the wrong colour temperature so can look unappealing. I would use a combination of photographic lighting to balance these sources to give a natural fresh feel. Where possible and time permitting, placing a light source outside a window or balcony can be used to give a sunlight impression drifting across the room or bed. This lifts the whole shot and makes the product far more desirable. (a further sample of this can be seen on these 360 degree shots)
When it comes to lenses I shoot using a top of the range Nikon 14-24 f2.8 G ED, which is great for showing of the full room while correcting perspectives.
Nerdy technical stuff I know, but it looks great!
Estimated Timeframes
The actual time taken is dependant on how much dressing and lighting each room requires. Props can be used in some rooms, magazines, a bag or some fruit for example, but this needs to be discussed. We also need to discuss how much lighting we want to use. If we are time limited then maybe we focus on ‘hero’ rooms to light thoroughly, and others to use a quicker fill lighting. Setting up the events spaces will take time to turn around of course, though we would recce beforehand to pre plan only setting up whats needed for each shot angle.
Based on 8 bedrooms, 4 lodges, 6 apartments, 4 pavilion set ups and 4 lake view set ups I would estimate 3.5 – 4 days shooting.
Costings
Even though a shoot like this only takes place every once in a while, at the end of the day it comes down to costs. If you are looking for a budget option you will find cheaper, but we pitch ourselves to shoot the highest quality at a realistic price. I’ve quoted my day rates to cover myself and an assistant. An assistant will allow for more shots in each shoot day and can be prepping a room while I’m shooting another. I’ve included a similar discount to our restaurant shoot which I hope helps. We can have a chat about how much time we think is required to get the desired results.
I will give you a quick call once you have had a look over everything.

Who I’ve worked with
”Pete is always really positive and has a very professional approach to dealing with both models, clients and the general public. He is always calm under pressure, but equally very energetic in his approach which means you always get a fantastic end result. I would recommend Pete very highly and look forward to working with him again soon!
